2017 Theme: BETTER

This year’s theme will be “Better”, and our theme verse is Hebrews 11:40
which states, “Since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.” Everyone has better moments in their life where they choose to exchange their way for His ways. As an example, Moses experienced a better moment at the burning bush. It is our desire that each Superwow attendee can identify BETTER moments in their faith journey.

  • SuperWow is designed as a summer camp environment for students in middle and high school (typically ages 12-18). We do also have seminars for college students who are recently graduated from high school.

  • Yes, all attendees are required to purchase a ticket in order to attend camp. As a non-profit ministry, we do everything we can to keep prices as low as possible.

  • We recommend having at least one adult for every five students that you bring, however, we know that sometimes this is not always possible. This is a question that we leave in the hands of church leadership committees/teams to answer based on their church trip policies.

  • Each year, we hire between 15-20 young adults to serve on our SuperWow Staff in various teaching, administration, and technical roles. If you are interested in serving, we encourage you to apply. You can find our application here > SuperWow Staff Online Application

  • Once you register for SuperWow with a deposit, your deposits are non-refundable. However, we are happy to transfer deposits to the group balance for any decreases in numbers through May 5, 2017. See the page of the  camp you will be attending for full financial policies.

  • No, we do not have a formal dress code for SuperWow. However, we do encourage youth leaders to teach, encourage and enforce modesty among the students from their group.

  • At our beach locations, the base conference price includes admission to all camp activities, a camp notebook, and a tshirt – housing and meals are not included to allow groups the option or making their own plans. If you would like assistance in this process, call 1-800-746-4422 x 234. At our Toccoa location, the price includes camp activities, lodging, and meals.

  • Through the years, we have found that most groups like to enjoy at least one meal in a local seafood restaurant during their time at the beach. Therein, we have rearranged our schedule on Wednesdays to accommodate extra time and freedom to do so.

  • We offer a variety of mission projects for groups to participate in ranging from working with children/elderly to manual labor outside. Our missions coordinator will reach out to you in early May to discuss specific options and finalize plans for your group.

  • The SuperWow Cup is an annual award given to one church at the end of each week of SuperWow to commemorate their participation and excellence in camp activities. Activities vary from year to year – details will be included in your group registration packet that is sent in early May.

  • The Jekyll Island Authority sets daily, weekly, and annual rates for entry onto Jekyll Island. You can find the current prices for each of these passes here > http://www.goldenisles.com/getting-around/parking-island-access

  • Yes, we do not prohibit cell phones at camp. However, we do ask for all electronic devices to be put away during services and seminars. We also encourage youth leaders to teach, encourage, and model healthy technology usage for their students while at SuperWow.

  • Yes, each afternoon has a block of time that is available to be used as free time at the youth leaders discretion. We do offer recreation and mission project options for groups to utilize if they do not want free time.

  • No, we do not hire/provide medical assistance to camp attendees at SuperWow. Each group is encouraged to bring their own first aid kit for any minor medical needs.

  • Yes and No. We highly encourage churches to obtain a medical release for each minor that attends camp. This is a wise practice for group leaders to utilize for all youth trips. However, we do not require that you submit these in order to attend – we leave this in the hands of the group leader.

  • We have a team dedicated to helping you plan your trip down to every minute detail. Give us a call at 1-800-746-4422×234 or email us at youth@gabaptist.org.

  • SuperWow is an evangelistic ministry of the Youth Ministries Office of the Georgia Baptist Convention. The generous gifts of Georgia Baptists to global missions through the Cooperative Program allow us to provide events like SuperWow each year at such affordable prices.
